Bill Coghill Bill Coghill has been actively involved with Crystal Mountain from the beginning. In 1960 his experience as a forester with Weyerhaeuser was put to the test when he built a three dimensional topographic model of the planned ski area. It was so detailed and took so much of his time to develop, his wife, Cass, thought he had another woman in the basement! The topographical model that helped shape Crystal Mountain's future and it was used on many occasions. Among other things this model was used for chair placements, permits and designing exit routes for the ski patrol in moving injured skiers. It was also used to secure the World Cup, and when the time came
to build the Green Valley chair lift, the model was used to develop a topographic model of the lift. Bill has been in the ski patrol at Crystal Mountain and skied with the mountaineers at Snoqualmie. He joined the Board in 1986 and was on the Board of Directors and the Board of the Founders Club for more than ten years. His kids grew up skiing at Snoqualmie and his two daughters came on as ski patrol for
Crystal Mountain. |
