1991-96
Dana Meeks initiates dialogue between Canadian real estate company lntrawest and Crystal for a buyout or joint venture. Fellow shareholders Dave Gossard, LeRoy Kingland, Wade Perrow, and Alan Bluechel join the effort. lntrawest expresses initial interest but tables discussion indefinitely in 1996.
1994
Robert E. "Bob" Carlson becomes Crystal's final chairman of the board through 1997.

1996
Boyne USA and John Kircher step into the breach left by lntrawest and enter into discussions to buy Crystal.
1997
In March, Crystal is sold to Boyne USA in a deal structured to preserve the stockholder lift privilege, and Crystal Mountain Founder's Club is born. John Kircher becomes the ski area's president and general manager and starts improvements immediately.
Forest Queen Express (C-9), a six-passenger highspeed detachable lift is built midmountain.
Base area is substantially remodeled, with heated pavers installed in ticket plaza.
1998
Chinook Express (C-11) is built, a six-passenger highspeed detachable lift leaving from near the Day Lodge.
Quicksilver chairlift (C-4) is shortened.
